Possibly useful queries

I tend to write a lot of queries for the K1000 and I have decided to share them. I created a GitHub repository a while back and have been putting more effort into maintaining it and even started to add comments to the queries. Hopefully it will be a resource for others in the community.

All-In-One DASHboard Views

cn6tkF.jpegSo here is the challenge, you want to see ServiceDesk data from within KACE but across multiple queues, or perhaps you want to see some Asset KPI data mixed with Inventory updates data. Maybe you actually want an Executive DASHboard that shows you KPI's from Patch, Asset, Inventory and Service Desk, and the last thing you want is to have to leave your KACE admin console logged in on a screen all day!!

With DASHboard for KACE you are now able to add any SQL report, in the correct format, into a graphic allowing you to show any KACE metric on a custom DASHboard.

Build DASHboards for Tech's, for a big display in your Service area or build specific KPI's for your CIO so they can feel confident in the KACE service you are delivering.

DASHboard even now runs as a local application, which can be accessed by your colleagues, no longer requiring a browser based approach.

With a simple 4 step logic you really can now:

  • Define your KPI targets
  • Write an SQL report to measure the KPI
  • Import the SQL into DASHboard
  • Configure your graphic to display and monitor your KPI - Any formats, Any colours
Here is an example screen from our Latest DASHboard release

Check out the different Metrics taken from multiple queues and Asset management.
Check out the differing formats in which the data is presented:

  • Pie Charts
  • Bar Charts
  • Column Charts
  • Line Graphs
  • Clear Big Numbers (many more available)
Why wouldn't you want this level of KACE clarity now it is so readily available?

Unattend LTI

The Unattend LTI application is a utility designed by Corey A. Serrins and Nick Morea to give users of the Quest | KACE K2000 some additional flexibility in the deployment of new computers into an organization by manipulating the unattend.xml file of the deployed device.

Read the included PDF for instructions on how to use these tasks, as they can be run in the most basic form of a user interface with all options available, or the UI can be narrowed down to just the options preferred by the administrator, or can be run silently.

To download, the user must be a member of the K2000 community.

How Services Desk Process Override works

The process override is really easy, but sadly not really well explained in the admin guide.

Here is how it works:
1. Login to the KSMA admin UI using one of the override accounts
2. Go to the ticket that is in Pending approval
3. Click in Choose Action
4. You should see the "Override Approval" Options
