Windows 10 Multi Screen Video Fix

In windows 10 you may find that display manager does not show all of your monitors plugged in.

It appears that MS actually included 2 different display mangers in windows 10.

DO NOT right click the desktop and go to display settings.

1. Go to control panel and select “Display”

2.Select “Project to a second screen"

3.Chose “Extend"

4.Go back into Display and chose “Change display settings”. (Note: This must be done here and not display manager.)

5.Here you can enable the screens, configure resolution and position.

  • I do not understand your limitations (maybe it has something to do with the video card or driver). Right click "display setting" shows all of them on every machine I have imaged with win10 so far. I can drag and drop the monitors in that screen, if you click on "advanced display settings" you can adjust the resolution and other settings for each monitor. - SMal.tmcc 8 years ago
    • This happens when you have a laptop dock that has a different video chipset than the laptop. When this happens the desktop display settings only shows a 3 out of 4 monitors. Windows 10 actually has 2 display mangers built in. When you go to display settings via control panel it will show you all the monitors from both video cards. This is a known issue in windows 10. - ohiosoundguy 8 years ago
      • Thanks for the clarification, that makes more sense now. Did not mean to put your post down, it is good info, we have only put out 2 Lenovo's so far and they only had one monitor on the USB3.0 dock so that would not have shown up. The PC's we have done with multi monitors have the same 2 brand name video cards for the 4 monitors. I have noticed MS has done this trick to a few of the feature controls, they have two different interfaces that act different. (print control is another good example) - SMal.tmcc 8 years ago
