Add/Change Windows 10 Index Scope Via Script

I would like to find a way to add and/or change the search locations used by the Windows Search Service indexer.

Now, I know how to do this through the interface but I need to make changes to 400-500 PCs.

So, with that all said, I would like to find a script. Batch, VBS, PowerShell, Morse Code. Something that will help automate this process.

Thanks in advance to any help.

Googled it. And you cannot know how much I resisted posting this as a LMGTFY link...https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732491(v=ws.10).aspx

  • I thank you for holding back on the LMGTFY like.
I was so focused on trying to script this process, that I did not stop to think about GPO.
Thanks again for being the one to stand back and look at the root problem and not focused on just how to fix it. - DLCurtis 6 years ago
