Adobe Shockwaveplayer 11.5.6.606 disable autoupdate??

Hi all,

I have had a look on the Package KB previous to posting this question and have been unable to fix my problem with the information on the Package KB article.

I have downloaded the msi from the Adobe website and I will be installing it on a base build.
I want to turn off Autoupdates and have done the following but it hasn't worked - the check box is still ticked to look for updates.

I have added the registry key
HKCU\Software\AppDataLow\Software\Adobe\Shockwave 11\AutoUpdate
REG SZ: (Default) Value data: n

And also added the following key
HKCU\Software\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\Autoupdate
REG SZ: (Default) Value data: n

However, this hasn't disabled the autoupdate.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or if it is infact disabled but just doesn't show as being disabled.

Your help is appreciated!
Thanks

Sorry for kicking this old topic, but I solved it this way and it works. maybe someone else can use the help:

On 64bit windows machine create the following file : C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg

On 32bit I think its: C:\Windows\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg

Enter the following two lines in the file:

AutoUpdateDisable=1
SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0

It's the HKLM keys you need to change not the HKCU

Thanks for the reply Timmsie but that didn't do it either.
I did a snapshot of changing the "Automatic Update Service" value from enabled to disabled and the snapshot picked up quite a few HKCU registry keys.
I have included the ones I thought were relevant into my mst and this has solved my problem.
