Email from rule is not showing correctly - ignoring new lines

Follwing the information from https://support.quest.com/kace-systems-management-appliance/kb/111222/how-to-notify-any-user-or-group-by-email-when-a-new-ticket-is-created, we have created email notifications but there is a slight issue that I cannot figure out how to resolve. It is not following the paragraph/new line formatting.

For example

Dear $submitter_fname, a ticket was created in response to your web submission.

Your submission was:

Category: $category

Priority: $priority

Status: $status

Severity: $impact

Comment: $comment

shows up like

Dear $submitter_fname, a ticket was created in response to your web submission.

Your submission was:

Category: $category

Priority: $priority

Status: $status

Severity: $impactComment: $comment

Is there a way to make sure two lines are not shifted into one? It is not just the last two lines. Sometimes it is in the middle.

  • I would copy/paste into a text editor where you can view whitespace characters, then see if there's any difference in the type of line breaks. - JasonEgg 6 years ago
    • I have already checked this. Anyway, if it was a whitespace character, wouldn't the issue be consistent?
Right now, some times the email looks correct. Other times, the two lines that are combined are the first ones. Sometimes, it is two somewhere in the middle. Other times, it is the last two. There does not appear to be a consistent pattern to help me identify what is causing this. - jessburd 6 years ago
