File Replication to NAS or Linux
We run about 15 centres around the UK and with file replication we deploy patches to them overnight from a local users computer at the centre. We are having issues with this as users won't leave a computer on overnight to collect the patches from the main server, so when on a Friday we deploy patches to all computers in the centre it fails because patches aren't locally there and we don't have failover checked.
I was wondering if it is possible to create a folder share on a NAS box or Linux box that we can sit in the data cabinets at all the centres that will be able to pickup the file overnight and will deploy to all machines on a Friday. I don't really want to put a Windows box in the cabs as there are more expensive.
Please let me know if anyone is currently doing this as it would be good to hear your solutions to patching remote centres.
