Google Chrome Web App Extensions in the Start Menu

Hi all,

I've been looking into this for a few days now and can't seem to find a resolution.

Upon launching Chrome at least twice on a vanilla VM WIN10 build, it will automatically install Chrome extensions into the start menu as well as giving them their own control panel entries:

I've attempted some extension related registry keys to block them but to no avail, they seem to just force install without any prompt or warning, or even any agreement from the user. Does anyone know if maybe there is a policy/registry key/initial preferences setting that can be applied to block these from installing to the start menu?

Thanks!
