Help with patch label

I'm relatively new to Kace and haven't really had any training, as the K1000 was already in place before I was hired. I'm trying to set up a patch schedule for Adobe Reader and have a couple of quick questions. There's already a subscription set up, so the patches I need are already available on the K1000. I've created a device label to target the appropriate devices, I just need help with the actual patch label.

I want this to basically keep Adobe Reader updated to the latest version. I'm starting with a simple label that just finds all Adobe Reader patches that are not superseded, but it finds all these old patches such as Adobe Reader 7.0.9, Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.1, etc. Do I need to filter that stuff out some how, or will the K1000 not try to do anything with those if a newer version of Reader is on the device?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The K1000 should not try to deploy an older version. To be on the safe side, I mark old patches I don't want possibly deployed as "Inactive" within Security-Patch Management-Catalog

  • Great, thanks for the help. Would this also upgrade to the next major version as well? For example if they are on version 11.5 or something, and version 12 gets released. - Xeric 8 years ago
    • Assuming you have software installers as part of your subscription, yes. - rockhead44 8 years ago
