How do I enable the software for Internet Explorer 11 in my kbox?

I am trying to push out Internet Explorer 11 and it shows that my MS 2841134 Internet Explorer 11.0 (All Languages) is disabled.  I am trying to find out where to do to Enable it so I can push it out.

  • I am having a hard time finding an old post here that may help but the summary of it is: Internet explorer is it's own special snowflake and isn't really a software. It's a windows Update. You may have better success pushing it out at a patch since it's part of windows update. - Wildwolfay 9 years ago
    • I might have not been clear enough. I am trying to do it as a patch, but it is showing that patch is disabled. I was trying to enable the patch itself. - tsienkiewicz@ldirx.com 9 years ago
  • Running into the same situation. Windows Update is failing for IE11.0, and I thought KACE would have better luck. However, the patch (MS 2841134) is disabled. Would like to know the reason it's disabled.

My only guess is our Patch Subscription Settings does not have a check for "Include Software Installers" which I think IE11.0 is.

Checking the box could have a lot of unintended consequences. Maybe I'm wrong, but there are 660 patches with "Impact = Software Installer", and most of which I do not want installed on every machine with the KACE agent. We would have to touch most of our patching schedules (labels) to avoid installing new programs. - srober99 9 years ago

I've never pushed it out using patching but you could always download it and deploy it as a Managed Install.
