IE9 Deployment in KACE using Scripting

I was trying to install IE9 through Distribution, but UAC is blocking it. Support suggested scripting but I am unsure as to how that functions. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I am attempting to deploy IE9 using the information above but although the script completes successfully this is still not installing. I am still a novice with the K1000 so any further information on what exactly I should be entering in the MSI Configuration Wizard would be helpful. I am currently using Version: 6.0.101864. - pegasus 9 years ago

Answer Summary:
You need to use the msi configuration wizard under the scripts tab. Simply find the software (ie Internet Explorer 9) and then add in the silent installs. If it comes as an exe simply modify the script to launch the executable and remove the msiexec.

Intresting problem. I'm usually trying to remove IE9 from my network, legacy programs and all.

In fact IE is an; "Important Update" that will be auto-installed if Windows Updates gets turned on.

Probably not the answer your looking for though

Here is a script that I wrote that will silently install IE 9! :)

Another option may be to deploy via the patching engine, if you are using that.
