Inventory After managed Install

Hello , I have been told MI is the way to go from Kace support instead of Scripts.
However i know MI do an Inventory Before Install but what about after?
I would like to set this as im doing an install based on a device smart label so i want is that the install happens and then the device is removed straight away from that smart label so the device can go into another smart label where another install will happen.
I.e Staggered Installs.
Thanks

  • Even if the PC doesn't run an inventory after the MI has completed, the MI should show that the software is installed. The Inventory will just show a reflection in the Installed Programs. With you using a Smart Label to install the app, it will not continually try to install it because the MI will recognize the software is installed. - DaveMT 6 years ago
  • thanks for the reply, sorry did not explain the best when i posted the question. This MI is for two patchsets that kace Inventory does not see, so i have made two smart labels based on two CIRs that look at the registry. I have just done what i needed by running the MI with the option of Run Now and then i forced an inventory when the first MI had finished and i selected Run Now on the second MI. Would be better if this process was automated - markc0 6 years ago
  • Ahh... Chucksteel's answer is a good option for you. You could also write the first patch install as a script or batch file to call the runkbot 4 0 after the install has completed. - DaveMT 6 years ago

You can manually run an inventory from the client with:
runkbot 4 0
So you could use a script to install the update and then run an inventory.

If possible, I would put both of the patch sets into one Managed Install and just deploy that.
