Is there a limit to the number of clients that can be imaged at one time and why is the process so slow?

I am deploying windows xp images to 1000+ clients.  I don't seem to be able to connect and image more than 5 systems at a time.  Is there a limit to the number of clients that can be deployed at a time, and if so can the limit be changed?

Another question is why is the imaging process so slow?  We are on a fully Gig-E network.  Most clients are at remote sites, with a max of 5 hops to the kbox.  A single client takes about 20-30 minutes to deploy an image to, but if I start more than two clients imaging the process jumps to multiple hours!  I also do not see the kbox even nearly approaching 100% utilization of the network connection, instead a maximum of about 8% and an average closer to 4%.  What am I missing or doing wrong?

Are your remote sites going thru the WAN? if so why not setup remote sites to do the imaging locally.

  • We are implementing RSA's. However even locally we see these slow speeds and long deployment times. I am in contact with the KACE support team to address these issues. - jereader 11 years ago
