K2000 Image Deployment to New E5570

Hi All,

We are new to KACE and have actually accomplished a lot in the few months we've been live.  Now, we have just received a brand new E5570 laptop, i7 processor with a Micron 1100 SATA 512GB SSD.  The KBE sees the drive and when I go to diskpart in the KBE command prompt, the drive volumes are listed.  However, when deploying a Windows 10 UEFI syspreped image, it fails at the Apply Image task with return code: 4294967295. Unknown error.

I have verified that the Create UEFI Partitions and Apply UEFI Partitions tasks are in place and verifed the BIOS is set to UEFI mode.  I can take this same image and deploy it to any of our other active systems with zero errors (7040 desktop, 6540 laptop, etc).

Has anyone else run in to this with brand new systems recently built?

Thanks,
Erik

  • We haven't made the jump to UEFI imaging on our Dells. If you switch the laptop to legacy boot does it work? - chucksteel 6 years ago
  • I don't have a Legacy Windows 10 image built. Just UEFI. The fix is to apply new Create UEFI and Apply UEFI tasks from what came in the K2000.

  • If you are sure about the Sysprepped Process and the tasks being used, you might be facing the issue described here:

    • That's the exact fix that I was advised to try by Quest and it works. Thanks. - ehansen 6 years ago
