K2000 - Post installation Windows updates

Hi!

Is there a SIMPLE way to post installation Windows Update under a installation ? Have tried this guide: http://www.itninja.com/question/wsus-offline-as-postinstallation-task-xp-win7-w-progress-bar , but no luck. Get stuck on step 10, don`t get it.

Thx for help! =)

  • I have been trying to get the WSUS Offline task working for weeks. The original post was from 2012. Maybe the new task engine causes this not to work. I have gotten to a point where the updates run, but the task engine will not move on to the next task. - jamie1069 8 years ago

We have used this VBScript from Microsoft. It occasionally generates errors but is successful most of the time.

I commented out all of the wscript.echo lines to make it run silently.

  • Thx Chuck! But I have fix a another solutions for this, it almost working =) Problem is under the postinstallation task, I have wrote a simple bat-script, the bat-script start, BUT K2000 reboot because it think the installation is done, but the script is not done. It there any options for K2000 to wait with the reboot, utill the script is done ? - Swede 8 years ago
    • It might be dependent on how you are launching things from inside of your batch script. I'm not sure. I'd be interested in hearing about your method if you get it working. The VBScript works most of the time, but like I said, it isn't 100% reliable. - chucksteel 8 years ago
      • OK, is simple bat-script with a few lines. Is`s so annoying when it restart the PC. So you have no idea ? - Swede 8 years ago
