K2000 RSA Virtual OVF smaller disk size?
Hey All,
I recently upgraded my K2000 to 4.0 and was surprised with the upgrade from 32bit to 64bit. I was however very surprised that the OVF wants 1TB of disk space. Is there any way to shrink down the amount that it needs? I was perfectly happy with the 300GB that it used last time.
It is surprising, especially since my K2000 only uses 500GB.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

The 4.0 K2 and RSA now share the same .ovf. With the ability to capture images and user states from an RSA on the roadmap, it makes sense that the RSA is a larger size.
Thin provision isn't supported, but is one possibility, knowing that capturing of images could fail because the expanding of the disk can't keep up.
Another option is to select thin provisioning on the RSA, then add a second thick provisioned disk of the size you want. When going through the wizard, select to use the second disk as offboard storage.
Update: 4.1 will have a 500GB and 1TB ovf option, should be posted in the next few days.

Thank you, I will try that out. I really have no need right now to upload images from remote sites. I just want to push an image from our K2000 to them. I will let you know how it works out! - zgillette 7 years ago

Is the 1TB requirement documented anywhere? The 4.0 Admin guide lists a minimum of 250GB disk space for RSA's. A 1TB minimum would be an absolute deal breaker for me at the moment so I don't want to start the upgrade only to find I can't rebuild my RSA's.
