Kace and Windows updates \ Uninstalling Kace agent.

I really have two problems.  First, the Dell Kace update window (for Windows updates) keeps popping up on a few users computers after all updates have been installed and the computers have been restarted.  Does anyone know why?
Second, the only way I have found to fix problem one is to uninstall and re-install KACE.  However, version 6 does not show up in add\remove programs (programs and features for you sticklers) which I'm glad about but I cannot access the clientdrop folder on our appliance.  It says I do not have permission even though I am an administrator.

Any ideas are appreciated.

  • You could also script it using the uninstall string found in the Software entry for the Kace Agent - rockhead44 9 years ago

I found the answer to uninstalling myself.  Here is what I found:
  1. Type cmd in the search programs and files box.
  2. The cmd box will pop up.  change directory to c:\Program Files (or Program File x86 if 64 bit)\Dell\KACE
  3. Type amptools.exe uninstall. The AMPAgent will stop and the agent is uninstalled.
