Kace Asset Management Computer Inventory
Guys
I'm trying to best determine some asset management practices in Kace.
In the computer asset inventory, machines get added to the asset fields when the Kace amp agent is installed.
As computer go end of life and are removed from the network , I delete them from the device inventory to free up a Kace node license.
Is there away to pull in serial numbers etc into the asset inventory automatically for historical and audit proposes?
I know I could add it manually but I want to remove any human errors when the amp agent is polling this information.

In the settings for the Computer asset type we use BIOS Serial Number so our assets are created using the serial number for tracking purposes. If you are using another field then the only way to accomplish this would be to use a service desk rule that would update the computer assets. Alternatively you could perform exports from the inventory and imports into assets but you probably don't want a manual process. - chucksteel 9 years ago
