Hey guys,

I'm trying to create a checkout system on KACE  K1000 so that I can monitor users that have picked up a laptop and which laptop. The laptops are to be checked out for short amounts of time, as you would a book at the library.

 Any tips to help me get started?

What I would do is setup a Queue in the Service Desk. Create the fields that you want to track and tie in your Computer Assets.  Then when you create a "Ticket" for check out select the laptop being check out and the ticket remains open til it is returned, then close it. This way you can track users and associated them with the asset.  This would also allow you to create a custom ticket rule that would run weekly and send email reminders to the users to make sure they return the laptop (or whatever time frame they need to bring it back by).  Also a quick search or custom view would tell you if a laptop is checked out in cause you need to run an inventory check.
