KACE Software Catalog - Managing Software that Requires a License
We're using KACE to manage our licensing via Assets and the new Software Catalog. The Software Catalog contains thousands of discovered software, how is everyone managing what software to track and what software not to?
The only real method I can think of is to run through every item and apply a label for software that does not require a license. That way I can track everything that doesn't have that label and see new software that has been discovered. This will have a lot of up-front work, is there a better way?

We setup labels for each software title that we want to track and associate those labels with the software assets and licenses. I think you'll find that it is less work to apply a label to the things you want to track instead of the other way around.
