Office 2007 / Clipart - Word2007 - Clip art Collection adding?
I feel like this should be a simple task but I'm struggling to get it sorted.
We've got a few hundred Win7x64 machines on our AD network.
We are new to AD and also recently new to KACE appliances.
We're still using Office2007. Office 2007 is already installed on every workstation.
What I need to do is make a bunch more clipart available to every user via the Clipart organizer.
The clipart they need is also already on every single workstation (somewhere in the C:\Program Files dir)
The problem is that I need a way to get that clipart imported into the clipart organizer so that it is easily accessible to each user.
We are a K-8 school, so it needs to be as easy as "insert clipart" and nothing more for the end user.
How can I remotely achieve this??
To be clear, in the end this is what should be available to each user:
The default,stock Office clipart, the online clip art, and our own added clipart (which consist of several hundred pictures - each in seperate folders).
Surely I'm missing something easy??

We're a school. It's mid-year. A new resource is made available to us. This resource is a bunch of discs full of clip-art. How do you go about getting this clip-art available to all users automatically (remotely, silently)? - anonymous_94669 10 years ago
Is there something you can replicate for your users?
Process Monitor might point you in the right direction here too.
There is a way to configure the Clip Organizer to automatically import anything from specific folders, that way when you add to it, it will import automatically.
Capture setting that and see if you can indentify a setting to enable this on your machines. - dunnpy 10 years ago
I'm looking at the Office Customization tool now and I'm not seeing where to specify additional clipart.
Any ideas?
I do see a "Clipart Pictures" option to set the default path for clipart (also found in GPO, I believe) but I'm concerned that if I specify the location of our new clipart in that field, we'll lose all of the standard office clipart, and still be without an efficient means of adding new clipart at a later date (since only one location can be specified)
**Update** For the sake of testing, I set the "Clip Art location" option from directly on one of the installations. (Word Options->Advanced->File Locations). This line was previously blank, so I pointed it to the local directory that contains all of the subfolders for out additional custom clipart. This seemed to have no effect on the clipart collection. I still couldn't search/find any of our clipart from the Organizer. Makes me wonder what the point of this setting is??
So I'm still stuck...HOW does one add clipart to an Office2007 collection? Whether it be via Custom Install or GPO?
At this point, all I can come up with is a cludgy log-on script that copies the entire folder structure (originally created from a system that had the clip art manually added to the organizer) from a network location to the ClipArt Organizer directory as each user logs in. (This still assumes the clipart is on the machine in the same location ahead of time).
That's not overly complicated but there's got to be a better way.. - anonymous_94669 10 years ago
