  • Errrrr....aren't you installing *all* your apps with an admin-privileged account?!?! - anonymous_9363 9 years ago
  • yes i am running all apps as admin but thisperticular app says u should be administrator to run this application. and i have admin account........ - swap20june 9 years ago
  • If this is an old application it may be checking that the username is Administrator, and not that the current user is a members of the Administrators group. - EdT 9 years ago

To get the answer to my problems, I find it usually helps to state the actual problem. - anonymous_9363 9 years ago
  • so, it installs OK with admin creds. Then when you run the app it prompts for elevation??? - Badger 9 years ago
  • For computers without UAC -
Right-click anywhere on your desktop, and point to New, then click Shortcut. In the wizard that appears, type taskmgr.exe. Click Next, and type the name you want for this shortcut. Click Finish, .Start it with Run As Administrator/ Run As Different user (or use "runas /user:admin taskmgr" in RUN ) then go to the drop down menu on Windows Task manager - File->New Task (Run), Browse and select the MSI Installer which want to execute. - spas.slavchev 9 years ago

No. You can not create "RunAsAdmin" shim to install msi. You will have to install your msi either through System account or the account which has admin privileges.
