SMA search for tickets not working well

Hey Everyone,

I'm not sure if I'm not doing something right, but when I try to do a search under Home -> Search, then I select View By: Ticket.  I would guess that I would be able to put in the Ticket ID and be able to get the ticket in question.  However, it doesn't work like that.  I would say that 3/4 of the time it gives me no search results found, and then gives me something the other 1/4 of the time.  Does anyone else have this issue?  I would think that this would be an easy query for the box to do.

Any info would be great.

This isn't a direct answer to your question, but instead of using the SMA search function to get straight to a ticket, I created a custom search engine in Chrome. The "search" URL is: https://kace.domain.tld/adminui/ticket.php?ID=%s and the keyword I used is kace

Now when I type kace in the address bar followed by a ticket ID it goes straight to that ticket.

  • Chuck, that was amazing! That worked out better than what the SMA does anyway. Thanks for your help! - zgillette 5 years ago
