You can create a response transform with Admin Studio using the 'Tuner' tool.

Pressing 'F1' whilst in the Tuner will provide you with the information you need about creating an MST file.

If you have a more specific question by all means post back with that - but the help files with Admin Studio and Google will provide you with all of the basic information you need to get you started.

Please check this: http://kb.flexerasoftware.com/doc/Helpnet/installshield14helplib/IHelpTransforms.htm

If is not helpful for you then you can come back with any question.

A simple way to create a transform over a msi is to create it with Orca. just open the msi with Orca and use New Transform. Once you create a new transform over the current msi, you will have two normal brackets at the end of the msi name in the left up corner of the Orca window. You can start edit the mst, the changes will be highlighted with green, at the end you have to go again to Transform and use Generate Transform.

  • With the greatest of respect, look at the OP's question again, then ask yourself how comfortable they would be using Orca........ - anonymous_9363 10 years ago

You create your transform using the Tuner and then install it with the MSI.

e.g. msiexec /i <yourmsi.msi> TRANSFORMS=<yourtransform.mst>

Running msiexec /? will give you the command line switches you can use with msiexec to perform a silent installation.

The help files with AdminStudio/Installshield will guide you.

While we're all here to help, the OP hasn't said that they've read the help and didn't understand it -  they are asking for step by step instructions on how to create an MST.

The OP stated in another post that they have 2.3 years experience with InstallShield - something doesn't quite ring true here.

For me if they ask a specific question regarding creating an MST that's fine, but not reading the help that is provided and then asking for someone to essentially do their job for them is another matter.
