Trouble with Single Partition Windows 7 Image
So I'm having trouble creating new images with multiple partitions in the latest version of the K2000. The old images work, but I'm having to create a new one for our Panasonic CF-31 toughbooks. The variant has some ridiculous driver that I cannot seem to get working with a manual install of Windows because it isn't signed, but I am able to get the toughbooks working on the "restore media" that comes with them. This restore dvd creates 3 partitions: a boot, system, and recovery.
I'm trying to post-install remove the 2 partitions and get this thing rolling on the single system partition but cannot successfully get rid of the boot partition. PartedMagic works fine for the removal of the recovery partition and I do not own a professional version of EasyBCD, though if that is the way I need to go I can get a copy. Can someone walk me through the successful steps of removing the boot partition on a pre-existing windows 7 system?

Generally, if you remove the "Boot" partition, you have to rebuild the BCD Store in a different location, such as C:\Boot.
To rebuild the BCD Store from the command line, you should be able to do something like this (after deleting the boot partition):
md C:\Boot
bcdedit /createstore C:\Boot
bootrec /rebuildstore
Replace C: with whatever driver letter your OS partition was assigned by the KBE ( possibly D: if it captured the boot partition as C: ) You will also need to make sure and set that partition as active.

It has to be done from within a WinRE or WinPE environment, so you would do it while still booted to your KACE environment. You could even script it as a Midlevel task (Postinstall that runs in the KBE) once you determine the exact commands for your setup. - BHC-Austin 9 years ago

On your master image have you tried to put that driver set in the c:\windows\inf structure prior to sysprep to see if it will load post with that method?

SMal I did indeed and it made no difference. I think Panasonic has some screwy hardware they use. Everytime the variant changes we have the same issue with drive controllers. - aaronr 9 years ago
