Why isn't "Create MDT Task Sequence" listed as an option in the SCCM 1511 console

I just upgraded last week from SCCM 2012 R2 to SCCM 1511 and even though I installed MDT and "Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2013 Update 1" is listed in "Programs and Features", "Create MDT Task Sequence" is not shown as an option when right clicking Software Library>Overview>Operating Systems>Task Sequences. Does anyone know how I can get that to show up? Thanks

SCCM 1511 on Server 2008 R2
Console Version: 5.0.8325.1000
Site Version: 5.0.8325.1000

  • I followed this link in hopes of getting this resolved:

When I load the console on the SCCM server "Create MDT Task Sequence" is there now, but not when I load it from my PC. Is that normal behavior? - virtualwolf 8 years ago
  • Isnt the MDT stuff normall installed locally on the server?? you would need to be on the server so the console could see the MDT install. - Badger 8 years ago
