A solution to remotely deploy Microsoft 2007 Time Zone Updates

IS Decisions announces the availability of software

enabling instant remote deployment of the 2007 Time Zone Update(s)

for Microsoft® Windows® Operating Systems.

THE ISSUE

The U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005, passed by the U.S. Congress July, 2005, extended Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the U.S. by approximately four weeks.

As a result, beginning in 2007, DST will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007, and end one week later on November 4, 2007, resulting in a new DST period that is four weeks longer than previously observed.

Unless certain updates are applied to all the systems in corporate environments, their time zone settings will go false during this four week period.

Resulting problems will be: database synchronization issues, erratic service startup/shutdown, incorrect document dating, batch/script delays, disrupted appointments and meetings…

MICROSOFT’S SOLUTION

Microsoft has provided free updates for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP in order to solve this issue.

Nevertheless, the updates still need to be deployed on all relevant servers, desktops and laptops.

IS DECISIONS’ SOLUTION

In order to allow organizations using Windows XP and/or Windows Server 2003 to rapidly and cost effectively deploy the 2007 Time Zone Update(s) for Microsoft® Windows® Operating Systems, IS Decisions is offering 15 day temporary RemoteExec licenses at an exceptional rate (pricing starting at $0.22 per target system).

RemoteExec will deploy the 2007 Time Zone Update(s) within minutes on all the systems present in an environment, regardless of size.

RemoteExec will execute the deployment remotely without requiring an agent or any prior manual intervention whatsoever on targeted systems. RemoteExec will log any systems on which the operation failed. The log will then be available for reuse as a target list for a subsequent pass.

HOW TO…

IS Decisions supplies a fully detailed reference guide explaining the installation of 2007 Time Zone Update(s) using a “15 day” RemoteExec license. The licenses can be purchased online via a secure payment center.

Also, clients will be able to convert their “15 day” licenses to permanent licenses with a 10% discount off RemoteExec’s pricelist.
