ORLANDO, Fla., ManageFusion(TM), Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Altiris, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATRS - News), a pioneer of IT lifecycle management solutions that reduce the total cost of owning IT resources, today announced the Authorized Altiris® Consultant (AAC) program, the first consulting certification and training program for Altiris Business Partners.

Authorized Altiris Consultants receive access to additional revenue opportunities, exclusive Altiris sales and technical support, and increased customer ownership.

Altiris customers will now have a select list of Altiris Business Partners to turn to for the highest-quality, Altiris-backed services. Altiris customers around the world can put their confidence in local AAC partners knowing that the partner is trained and certified with significant experience in the delivery of Altiris solutions that help reduce IT cost and complexity.

Valerent, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of I-Sector Corporation (Amex: ISR - News), is an elite Altiris Business Partner that delivers solutions to help customers lower expenses and improve the quality of their technology experience. Valerent has been an early participant in the AAC program.

Frank Cano, Valerent president, said, "The Authorized Altiris Consultant program provides us with service opportunities that otherwise would not be available. We have invested a significant amount of time, energy and resources into meeting the rigorous standards of the program with the end result benefiting us, Altiris and especially our mutual customers. Our customers are very discriminating and quickly recognize our Altiris expertise as a result of our investment in the AAC program."

Benefits of the AAC program include:

* Customer ownership extending beyond the initial Altiris sale provides additional service revenue opportunities for the partner on top of margins

* Backend Altiris sales support to minimize AAC partner time and expense

* Direct access to Altiris technical support for AAC consulting engagements

* Access to proprietary training and methodology materials

"The extensive certification and training process required of an Authorized Altiris Consultant ensures only the most qualified and committed Altiris Business Partners gain this exclusive status," said Terry Mongalier, Altiris VP of professional services. "This new program helps Altiris better leverage partners for sales efficiency while providing the top Altiris Business Partners access to tools and resources that help ensure and drive customer satisfaction.

"In addition, Altiris customers can utilize the services of an Authorized Altiris Consultant with full confidence in their capabilities and the backing and resources of Altiris professional services. AAC partners become a direct extension of the Altiris professional service organization, delivering a professional and knowledgeable Altiris consulting experience."

Prior to becoming an AAC, Altiris Business Partner status is required and the partner must have Altiris Certified Engineers (ACE) on staff. The AAC qualification process includes an assessment to determine previous consulting- related work history, industry expertise, competency with Altiris products and overall technical skills.

Altiris has contracted with Pearson VUE to provide electronic testing of Altiris certification exams. As a leader in computer-based test delivery, Pearson VUE provides Altiris partners with a reliable and secure testing experience (www.PearsonVUE.com/Altiris). Tests are delivered throughout the Pearson VUE network of over 3,700 Pearson VUE(TM) Authorized Centers around the world.

Once a candidate has passed the AAC examination, a skills assessment review is scheduled with Altiris to determine partner readiness. AAC partners are required to maintain certifications on current and new Altiris products as well as log 15 hours of Altiris eLearning per quarter for ongoing skills development.
