If your application is checking to see that the cd is inserted before starting, try checking for a file in the root of the cd, usually a .htm or .txt file. Copy that to the installation directory on the computer. Then locate in the registry under HCLM/Software/ and change the CD-Path to that directory.

This works for me 8 times out of 10.
