Adobe Creative Cloud Patching

We got our Enterprise Volume Licensing for Adobe Creative Cloud today and was curious if this is something I could patch through KACE.   I was goint to setup an Adobe Patching Server (AUSST) but thought maybe I could avoid that if the KACE can detect and patch the recent versions of Adobe Creative Suite software available through the Creative Cloud licensing.

I already use KACE to patch our CS6 and it seems to work pretty well so I thought why set up something new if I can use what I already have.

EDIT:  Also if anyone has any helpful information/steps on how to set this up on an existing WSUS server with IIS7 that would be great.   Adobe's provided instructions are very confusing.

  • I asked our Adobe reps if the Creative Cloud patches would be provided through Lumension but they didn't have an answer for me. - chucksteel 10 years ago
  • Thank You for checking into this. Looking further into what is available for Creative Suite patching that is also very light. I am looking into setting up a dedicated server for this to use for distribution points and updates. The Adobe Packages are very big and not something I want to upload to the KACE into a ZIP file. I do this with CS6 already on an existing server share so I know it works and the process is essentially the same. - bwilkerson 10 years ago
  • The more I look into this the Adobe Update server is just a middle man bandwidth saver is it not? I probably could just download the patches manually and push them out through KACE.

Anyone got any tips how they keep their Adobe Creative Suite Products up to date since automatically?? Standard users cannot run the updates themselves and cannot be relied upon to do it anyway. - bwilkerson 10 years ago
    • We are planning to use the Adobe tools to keep systems up to date. I haven't spent much time on this but I believe there is a command line you can initiate on the client that will install all of the updates. We do have our clients pointed to our internal Adobe Update Server but it is more of a bandwidth saver than anything else. - chucksteel 10 years ago
  • Do you have any links to resources where I can find out more on how to do this. I have run into situations in the past where something has not worked right in creative suite that was fixed by a patch and had to run around to nearly 150 computers we have the suite on and launch the updates. If this can be done using Adobe's server for updates and not a local server I would not care as I am having difficulty setting up an in house adobe update server. Their instructions are horrible. - bwilkerson 10 years ago
