Altova XML Spy 2012
I am trying to install Altova XML Spy 2012. I am able to install the application silently and disable the updates and registration for current user. There are registry keys being written into HKCU for disabling the updates. When I launch it as a new user the registry I am still getting the updates pop-up. I tried using Active Setup but no luck. Can anyone please help me on how to disable the updates for allusers.

Are new users getting the registry keys for disabling the updates? Have you checked for a "first run" setting in the HKCU registry? It may well be that on first run, any existing settings are overwritten. As a new user, try running a capture tool to record what changes are made when you answer the pop-ups. Then add them to your package. - EdT 9 years ago

No new users are not getting the hkcu registry keys. Application is writing to hkcu when it is launched. I added those HKCU registries to my package. But it is only working for current user. When I launch the application as a new user it is not getting the HKCU registry keys even though I used active setup. - sbobba1 9 years ago

Create component with those HKCU keys so that when active setup run , it copy those files to user HKCU.. - rock_star 9 years ago
