Can the KACE deny new terminal server (remote desktop services) sessions and also politely log off already connected users?
I'm looking for something kinda like the shutdown functionalty but for a terminal server (remote desktop in 2008 R2+). Is this possible? Essentially I need everyone to be off of this server by 8pm on Wednesdays and I'd like to try to have the KACE (we have a K1000) do that if possible.

Try using a shell scrip tto push somethign like this to the terminal server.
tsshutdn 120 /server:server8 /delay:20 /v
This gives a 2 minute logoff warning before shutting the service down

Isn't this something that can (and should?) be controlled by Active Directory? (If you're using it?)
Just set the user login/logoff permission times to what you like, and leave the admins 24/7
Only way I can think of using kace is to build a script that changes user permissions on the server then changes them back in the morning, but that seems like something that can go terribly wrong. - Wildwolfay 10 years ago
