Can you have one DHCP reservation for two MAC addresses?
The ERP software we use is licensed by terminal number which is set by IP address. In order to use the software, the IP address you have needs to have a terminal number assigned to it. You can not have mulitple IP addresses for a terminal number.
We have laptop users in the office that when they use wireless, they cannot use the software because the ERP software doesn't see a terminal assinged to the IP the wireless adapter is getting. In a perfect world, we'd love to be able to set the wireless MAC address and the NIC MAC address to get the same IP via DHCP reservation, so whether they are using wireless or the NIC card, they get the same IP address and therefore can use the ERP software. It would save us from having to purchase two ERP software licenses for these mobile users.
I don't think it's possible to have one IP address reserved for two MAC address - wireless and NIC. Can anyone verify if this can or cannot be done?
Let me know if you need more info.
