Capturing Windows 10 for KACE deployment using a virtual image

Hi there,

I am currently using Oracle Virtual box version 6.0.4 with the EFI checkbox checked and when I go to attach the KACE capture utility UEFI .iso file to capture the windows 10 image, Virtual box won't recognize the UEFI .iso file as a boot device to capture the windows image.
When I load the windows 10 .iso file, it boots fine, but the KACE won't....

I uncheck the EFI checkbox within the settings of Virtual box and load the regular non UEFI .iso file, it boots, but won't recognize the different partitions for UEFI to work correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

No need to capture an UEFI Image.

Just Build and capture the Image in legacy Mode, just capture C: and use these tasks:

The issue happens, because normal KBE isos are not designed for UEFI\EFI Virtual Machines, you will need to use Media manager to build a new KBE, and make sure UEFI VM ISO is checked:

When you enable that option, it will build a KBE for EFI VMs.

  • I do apologize, but my work does not allow me admin role to do server side scripts, etc like that...I have to use what they gave me and client side things only...
They did supposedly give us a .iso file labeled K2-100_UEFI.iso and this is what I have been using but virtual box still won't recognize it being bootable....
    Thanks.. - einstein36 5 years ago
