Create Netboot Newer version of OS X
Was hoping somebody could help me out - trying to get our K2000 working to image MACs. For the Netboot creation process, all the documentation indicates using an install CD. Apple discontinued install media over 2 or 3 years ago - everything is either an online restore or an app from the app store.
Has anyone had any luck that might be willing to spell out how you got around this?

To help better understand: K2000 Media Manager will do a version check on your mounted DMG. If the "SystemVersion.plist" is missing, (with OS X 10.10.3 it isn't present) Media Manager will "Assume" version 10.9. The image will proceed, and appear to move along as expected. However, at the end you will get the error "Expected source media version 10.9 doesn't match actual 10.10.3 version!"Until I, or Kace, figures out how to add the .plist to theESD, or allow to choose which version within Media Manager, this is as far as I can get. - griffith.109@osu.edu 8 years ago

At this time, only 10.9 is supported and netboot creation must occur on the same OS as the netboot environment you are trying to create. With that said, right click on the install.dmg file and browse through it for the installesd.dmg file. Mount that and then point Media Manager to the mounted dmg file.

You need to download the installer for 10.9 through the App Store, once the download completes you will find an application in /Applications. This application contains the install.dmg that you need to build the NetBoot image.
