deploy executable file through package

instead manually creating a new folder (e.g C:\test\) and copy my executable file to this folder , can i package this up and deploy using msi file.

appreciate your help

Unless I'm not understanding your question, this is exactly what MSI's are for. If you are looking for software to generate your MSI, check the link below. For something like this, the process should be very clear once you lauch your MSI authoring software.

my apology for the misunderstanding , maybe i shd put it this way ...my main aim is to copy a set of files to the target machine. where when i executed the msi , it will actually copy these set of file to the target machine e.g C:\test folder and at the same time create a shortcut at start menu or desktop

Then yes you can easily do that with an msi......gee I wish they were all that simple :)

I think you should go with what in4matik has suggested unless you are going to delve a bit deeper into packaging in general and learn to set conditions in your msi's etc.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
