Deploy Issues because of KACE Agent Service Logon Credentials

Hi there

we have a problem to deploy MS Dynamics NAV 2013 and Config UltraVNC Access Group based on Domain Groups in our enviroment.

First we have install NAV with a simple batch what installed the whole programm parts what we using, for the config we using a simple XML file (Install via: setup.exe /config myconfig.xml) and it work without of any issue.

Now we have a KACE 1000 Appliance and whant use it for this work, but KACE can't install NAV, we have change and test all possible solution, the Setup of NAV don't work with the KACE Agent (the copy task works well - but the installation don't start).

We have find a possible solution: stating the KACE Agent Service with Domain Credentials/User - and look: now the Setup of NAV works - but that can't be a solution - or is it possible to give the KACE Agent Service Domain credentials in the services and not "Local System"? (and yes we have test it with runas to start the setup).

Nearly the same problem is with UltraVNC to setting up the ACL List based on Domain Usergroup - with the KACE Agent the command "MSLogonACL.exe /i /o mylist.acl" dont add the domain user groups, when we change the service account logon credentials to a domain account it works.

This looks for an Permission Issue of the KACE Agent - any suggestions how it be can fixed - maybe how to change the logon credentials for the KACE Agent Service (Domain wide)?

Thanks for you Support

Just to clarify you're running a kscript and something's blocking the agent from running at the system level. You may want to check you anti-virus settings and make sure that the KACE Agent directory is excluded and the KACE Agent is specifically excluded. Due to the behavior of the agent it can be detected as a false-positive for malware. Try this on a test system and retry running as "Local System." The System is the highest level of permissions you can possibly have. If this doesn't work, check your UAC settings as well.

  • Hi
there is no anti virus installed when the installation task is running, all things working fine except the installation and scripts that need domain information (like the MSLogonACL.exe from UVNC that whant add domain accounts to the access list).

And it is no UAC issue, Office 2010, PDF Creator, Java .. all the programms work without any problem - except NAV (that need AD information to install and the adding of the domain user group to the ACL list of UVNC) - J.Frenker 10 years ago
