Deploying Skype For Business 2015 using AppDeploy and the KACE

Trying to use our KACE K1000 to push out an installation of Skype For Business 2015. I'm using AppDeploy to create an .MSI file out of the .EXE that we downloaded from Microsoft. This is my first experience using AppDeploy and I think I may have done something wrong because the install that gets pushed out doesn't do anything on the target machines. I'm creating the .MSI using the "Create and MSI setup based on system changes" option. Does anyone have any tips/tricks/advice on how best to create the .MSI file with AppDeploy? There are a number of options for which files and registry changes to include in the package and I clearly didn't choose the right things. Would love any assistance with this!

Thank you!

  • I actually was able to get the deployment to install on a target machine! However, when I try and launch the program, I get an error message:

"THe program can't start because AppVIsvSubsystems32.dll is missing from your computer."

Any advice on how to correct this? - disco510 8 years ago

SFB is an update to Office 2013 and should be distributed using your normal Windows Update method. The update requires a whole fleet of other updates that need to be installed alongside it.

Unless, of course, you've downloaded the wrong thing...?

  • I had downloaded the second link you sent me onto my machine and have SFB running and working perfectly. I'll try downloading the first link and creating an MSI out of in and pushing it out through the KACE. Have you been through that process yourself? - disco510 8 years ago
  • This didn't work. I downloaded the update and tried to run it on my machine (which currently has SFB installed on it) and the installer said there were no products on my computer that were affected by this update... - disco510 8 years ago
