Deployment to non Dell models with the K2?

Has anyone successfuly deployed win 10 to any other

model besides Dell with the K2. I have been trying to deploy

win 10 to panasonic laptops for over a week with no

success.

It wont PXE boot, so i created a usb KBE.

With that sorted, and i have captured the image ftom

the machine. But it wont redeploy back to the PC.

I am almost certain it is a driver issue.

I have created a new kbe with driver pack fom panasonic??

It was the pe5x64_driverpack. Still getting getting errors.

Any pointers or articles to non dell deployments would be helpful.

  • * What type of image do you use (Kimage or wim) ?
    * Have you put Panasonic PE drivers in \\K2000\drivers\kbe_windows_x64 or kbe_windows_x86 ? - gwir 6 years ago
  • Yes ..... and recached the drivers....and built a new kbe for it. Still seems to fail on the partitioning part of the script - akmagnum 6 years ago
  • Dell, VMWare, Hyper-V, Lenovo, Acer, HP, a table with an Asrock Motherboard on it using an Ivy Bridge CPU, with 4GB of RAM and an old 54000 RPM Barracuda drive, no problems.
The process is the same for all of them

So the issue is definitely drivers,

In regards iPXE, there are some DELL models not compatible with iPXE, it does not surprise me if those Samsungs are not able to do so.
    Keep using the USB KBE.

So when it fails to partition the drive, open CMD, open DISKPART and do a LIST DISK
    SEL DISK 0
    LIST VOL

Is the KBE able to see the HDD and it's volumes?

How old are this machines? Because you are saying you want Windows 10.

But you are using pe5 drivers???

Check with Samsung if they have the PE10 driver pack (as any other company), if they only have PE5, then maybe this machines can't handle PE10?

If you have a working Samsung device, with Win10 all drivers installed, you could use the driver feed builder tool to harvest them into the K2000, to then use them with KBEs and Deployments.

  • Yes "Channeler" It is at the partitioning part of the script that the deployment fails.
But the DISKpart sees the hard drive fine...with all the partitions.
These are brand new 2010 panasonic toughbooks, that came with windows 10. So they are not some outdated models.
As for the win pe drivers.... these where the only ones available on the panasonic website.
I thought maybe they were panasonic version of the lates win PE drivers. There is nothing later. - akmagnum 6 years ago
  • Boot to he KBE, go the Recovery options, open CMD

    DISKPART

LIST DISK (post a screenshot of the results)

    LIST VOL (post a screenshot)

    SEL DISK 0

    DETAIL DISK (post a screenshot)

What partitions are you trying to create? - Channeler 6 years ago
  • We've been deploying Windows 10 to Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4. We had to add in the drivers to the KBE, but we didn't have any other issues. We are also using UEFI, so I am not sure if that makes any difference though. - johnbags401 6 years ago
