Difference in patching between KBOX and windows update service

Hi All,

Would request your help in sorting out this problem. I have added a new system in my domain with windows update services disabled. I had pushed the patches through Kbox for that particular system by selecting "all patches" (note: no labels for patches, just all patches) and the patches are installed successfully.

The problem starts now. We have ESET console which shows this particular system as "operation system is out of date". When i cross checked by enabling "windows update services" the windows update showed around 40 patches to be downloaded and installed with 68 optional patches.

Now, could someone let me know why is this difference and how to overcome it.

Regards,
Syed Mansoor Imran

You would need to determine what patches the machine is missing and then see if your patch schedule should cover them or not.  Regardless if they are downloaded or not, the patch should be in the catalog if available.  You may have to switch to All Packages or Individual Patches to see if it's there.

My guess is that you might need to modify your subscription settings or your detect/deploy settings.

If there are patches that you are missing and are not in the patch feed, contact KACE support to see if they can be added.
