Disable Browser Out of Date Notification for Firefox?

09/26/2012 4370 views

When an out of date version of Firefox is opened, the user is immediately presented with a notification. I would like to disable this notification tab. Is this possible?

As clarification, this isn't a notification prompt or anything, but a whole tab in the browser that opens up very loudly declaring the browser is out of date.

Answer Summary:
The answer seems to be "just use the maintenance service" and keep it updated. This solution is automatic and lets each user update without administrative rights.

The latest versions which come for Firefox now have an update service with which users will be updated with the latest version without having elevated privileges.

You can opt to install or not this service  while installing firefox (custom setup ) or if it is pushed then disabling and then deleting this service.
