Diskpart configuration for multiple disks (in some cases)

Hi,

At our company, we are using 2 types of computers: 1 standard laptop (1 disk configuration) and a high performance laptop (2 disk configuration with RAID setup).
Since the high performance laptop has 2 disks, we want to install the OS on the SSD disk and the data on the SATA disk.

At the moment, we use the standard diskpart script "Create single partition" and the following unattend.xml content:

<ImageInstall>
        <OSImage>
          <InstallToAvailablePartition>true</InstallToAvailablePartition>
        </OSImage>
</ImageInstall>

For the laptop with 1 disk, this works without any issues since only 1 disk is present.
For the high performance laptop, the result varies. In most of the cases, the OS is applied to the SATA disk instead of the SSD disk.
This is even more unwanted when the user had stored all the data on the SATA disk and just wanted to perform a clean install of the computer..
So our service desk disconnects the SATA drive in order to install the laptops with Dell KACE.

Is there a possibility to create a diskpart script/unattend.xml setting to accomplish the following:
  • Standard computer: Install OS on the only disk partition
  • High performance computer: Install OS on the SSD drive and only format the SATA drive when no file system is present

I've read that you could use "Disk Location Paths" in combination with diskpart to determine the disk on which you installed the OS.
But I have no idea if we could make this dynamical with Dell KACE K2000 or what would be the best practice how to solve this?
The section <InstallTo> and <PartitionID> could also be used, but I'm not sure if the HDD and SSD are always connected to the same controller.

PS: We're using UEFI based computers.

Thanks in advance!

Regards
