Driver Feed Builder Not Uploading

We have several Lenovo laptops that I am trying to use the Driver Feed Builder to upload the drivers to our K2000. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. For instance, I'm working on a Lenovo X201 with Win7x64. I run the driver feed builder and select to copy drivers locally as well as to the K2000. It does copy them locally to the desktop, but not up to the K2000. If I try to manually copy them to the K2000 drivers_postinstall\lenovo\windows_7_x64 directory, it says I do not have permissions even though I'm authenticated as admin. I've also run the copy_drivers_debug and driver_feed_discovery_tool VB scrips and neither seem to help. Any ideas?

Sounds like an environmental issue.

-Try to disable your antivirus

-Also do a NET USE in CMD, make sure there are no cached connection from that device to the K2000.

-Make sure you are browsing to \\K2000\drivers_postinstall

and NOT
\\K2000\peinst\drivers_postinstall  (it's read only)

If you have them locally, then copy them to the drivers_postinstall folder, make sure you are using the right path.

You can confirm the PATH by running the driver_feed_discovery_tool.vbs from \\K2000\\drivers_postinstall\feed_tools\

(run it from the folder or copy the entire Feed Tools folder to your Lenovo's Desktop.

  • Thank you so much Channeler! This was a clean build with no AV so that wasn't the issue. But I was able to copy manually using the correct path instead of the \peinst path. That's good enough for me! - nkameron 6 years ago
    • cool, don't forget to re-cache all drivers from the Kbox before the deployment attempt - Channeler 6 years ago
      • Good call. Thanks again for your quick responses. - nkameron 6 years ago
      • Recaching drivers has no affect on drivers in the "drivers_postinstall" directory, just in the "drivers" directory - cserrins 6 years ago
