Driver Feed Instructions

Hello Everyone.  I am looking for more information in regards to the Driver Feed function in the KACE K2000 server and how it is correctly used.  I am trying to gain a better understanding on how to get it to work properly, and what needs to be configured to start the process.

I am using 3.5 on the K2000, and I have the needed drivers downloaded onto the K2000 for deployment, but how do I go about enabling the deployment of the drivers to an imaged machine?  Also, I noticed that under the System Image Details it gives me the option to "Use driver feed (only with Sysprep'd images)", but wanted to know if I can setup a postinstallation task to push the drivers for install instead.

I am very new to this and looking for any documentation that can help me understand this function better.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Here is the general process for installing drivers:

1. Download drivers from Driver Feed (if they aren't there you can download them manually and add them)

2. Recache the drivers (getting them from the driver feed does this automatically)

3. rebuild your boot environment

As to your question about installing drivers as a post-install task, this is done automatically by the K2000. When you get drivers from the driver feed, they will show up in the \\*your k2000 hostname*\drivers_postinstall folder (this is also where you would put the drivers that you download manually). So, you can just check that folder and make sure you see the drivers you want and then you can rebuild your KBE. Just as a hint, I like to include the date created in the name of my KBE's so that you can tell which one is the most recent, e.g. KBEx64_02-07-14

The K2000 Administrators Guide which you can find under the Help menu button goes into more details on this whole process.
