Error 1931
Hi Folks,
[font="times new roman"]How to solve Error 1931 Stating "The windows Installer services cannot update the system file C:\winnt\system32\advapi32.dll because the files is protected by windows.You may need to update your operating system for this progarm to work correctly."
I was trying to add some file in system32 which is off higher version compare to the build. once the package is done..during installtion i found this error in the eventvwr.
why googling i found that..these file has to removed from the package .please letme know we have an alternate method to solve this error. [align=right][/align]

I would recommend taking the advice you've already seen and remove the file from the package, especially if your targets are corporatebuild machines.

Is their way i can keep this file in INSTALLDIR ..once the shortcut is launched .I am asking whether ...It will be refereing the file on system32 or INSTALLDIR.
or
Can i keep this file in Common file folder and Isolate it..... such that once the shortcut exe is launched it will be refereing to the file in Common files folder
or

Why cant you just delete the file from your package...
Its a Windows protected file, google about WPF and read more...Its not recommended to install a WP file from your package....
