Could you mention if your application is exe/MSI or script based.
It might be having some user related data, that is why it was asked to you to install it in user context.

The k1 can install as logged on user. The k2 can migrate user states. Can you clarify the question?

I know Scripts support installing as the logged on user, but using Scripts for installs has been hit or miss in my experience. Does 5.4's Managed Installations have this functionality?
