How do I sync Kace asset Management with current software licenses?

I currently have software that is not tracked. a big example is Adobe licenses. I can log into the site and see all of the licenses we have purchased. None of this information is actually assigned to a user or department anywhere. I read up on how to use kace for software compliance. I can get a .csv sheet from adobe and export that into Kace. My wonder is how do I sync those licenses with the computer they are already on. I am thinking that Kace can scan and pull inventory from the computer with the license information in there. My questions are

Can Kace match the licenses that are imported to the licenses that are currently installed on computers?

We order a lot of onesie twosies licenses. Can Kace automatically see the software and pull the licenses on that computer.?

  • I don't know of a way to tie the licenses directly to a machine or user automatically.

You can link the licenses to the software. It will not tell you what license is installed on what computer but you will know that you have 9 Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed and licenses for 10.

You could add a custom field to the license Asset to track what computer or user can use the license. This wouldn't be automated, when creating the License asset you would input what user/computer it was purchased for. - jfields 9 years ago
