How to deploy Windows Updates via KACE1000 but choose manually which to apply.

Hello,

I am new in Kace and was testing script Windows Update Policy. But wondering ( i dindn`t find any script) how to choose manually(if it possible) which updates I want to apply, and disable some updates.

  • Being new...you might want to check out some of these videos to get you started. Patching is done under Security for actually pushing and deploying patches.

    As SMal.tmcc indciates, you can control which patches are active and not. KACE would only push out active patches based on the label they are in and if in a detect and deploy schedule. - nshah 9 years ago

go into patch detail and set the ones you do not want as inactive, activate only the ones you want to go out

I would approach this using labels. One of the best practices is to setup smart labels for patches to classify them according to specific criteria, e.g. Adobe Updates, Microsoft Critical OS Patches, Microsoft Office Patches, etc. This will help you sort through which patches are available and then you can manually assign an "Approved" label to the patches that you wish to deploy. You would then setup your patch schedule to include patches with the Approved label.
