K1000 Help Deploying Office 2013 64bit

08/19/2013 6902 views

I am trying to setup either a silent install of Office 2013 64 bit or a scripted install of Office 2013 64 bit. I have limited knowledge of KACE at the moment so Im looking for a little help\guidance

PC's are Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit Pc's

Have Older flavors of Office installed on some machine so II think a scripted install will be best

This is a good example, the difference between 32 and 64 bit is that you will have to use custom inventory rules to tell the difference.

It is also worth pointing out that you need to create seperate admin files for 32 bit and 64 bit installs of Office 2013. Also if you are moving from 32 bit to 64 bit you will have to run a script to uninstall the old version before you install the new version, this is because the admin setup tools from Microsoft can not cross platforms (ie. 64 bit install of 2013 can't remove a 32 bit install of Office 2010).

  • Per microsoft, you may want to install the 32 bit version on your 64 bit machines:
