MSI Error 1406 writing value to the key \CLSID\{D27........}\InprocServer32
I got a error 1406 while testing my msi. It says could not write value to the key \CLSID\{D27........}\InprocServer32. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.
I am using wise studio. Any solutions ?

Errrrr...using ProcMon - or your favoured process monitor - to see what exactly is happening when the MSI goes to write the value? - anonymous_9363 10 years ago

Just to rule out the message being correct...make sure you are installing the .msi with the highest elevated rights possible. You can't 'Run as administrator' on an .msi so, create a batch file to launch your .msi file. Don't double click the batch, right click it and select 'Run as administrator'. Try the install and see if you still get the error message. - Guttormr1 9 years ago
