Chart Viewer application reports DLL issue in ChageBASE, but works
I have an application "chart viewer" which gives a Red issue in ChangeBase stating that a particular dll is interacting with API in Kernel32.dll but I was to able virtualize with Vmware ThinApp.
Can there be issues with such Application at some later stage?
It could well be that some aspect of the application uses that .dll file, and you've not identified that aspect yet.
A full User Acceptance Test (UAT) would confirm whether the application could proceed as is, as you would receive a sign-off confirming that the application functions as expected - if it indeed does.
I have seen this kind of flag with other AppCompat tools, where it appears that the file in question is not used by the application at all, just a sloppy vendor leaving obsolete files in their build.
Or equally it could be present in the installer for legacy OS's, but conditioned not to install on your later target OS. All these kind of tools can do is examine the files present and report, they cannnot identify the logic of the installer as to whether the file is actually installed.
Hope that helps,
